Scott: Curriculum for excellence could be a perfect educational storm1.58.00pm GMT Sun 21st Feb 2010 Tavish Scott, Leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats says that the impending introduction of Curriculum for Excellence could be a perfect educational storm. Liberal Democrats are worried about the funding and information provided to schools ahead of the Curriculum’s launch. Commenting, Tavish Scott said:Tavish Scott: Leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats “Most local authorities in Scotland are trying to close schools. Every local authority is facing a financial squeeze. “Less money for schools and a completely new exam system that no teacher knows will create a perfect educational storm this August. “The Government must guarantee that schools, not local authorities but schools, have the resources to implement the new approach. “If the Government cannot make that guarantee to teachers, parents and pupils, then there is no alternative given the financial catastrophe than to delay its introduction.”
